মুন্সিগঞ্জ প্রতিনিধি
যথাসময়ে বিশ্ব ইজতেমা হবে বলে জানিয়েছেন স্বরাষ্ট্র উপদেষ্টা লেফটেন্যান্ট জেনারেল (অব.) জাহাঙ্গীর আলম চৌধুরী। একই সঙ্গে তিনি বলেন, সহিংসতাকারীদের কাউকে ছাড় দেওয়া হবে না। বৃহস্পতিবার (১৯ ডিসেম্বর) দুপুরে মুন্সিগঞ্জে আইনশৃঙ্খলা ও সার্বিক পরিস্থিতি নিয়ে কর্মকর্তাদের সঙ্গে মতবিনিময় শেষে সাংবাদিকদের এ কথা বলেন তিনি।
উপদেষ্টা বলেন, ইজতেমা নিয়ে সহিংসতার বিষয়ে তদন্ত চলছে। সাদ এবং জুবায়ের দুই পক্ষই আমাদের সঙ্গে প্রেস ব্রিফিংয়ে ছিল। অপরাধীদের শাস্তির আওতায় আসতেই হবে। তাদের কোনো ছাড় দেওয়া হবে না। কঠোর হস্তে তাদের দমন করা হবে।
যে কোনো পরিস্থিতি ও নির্বাচনের জন্য পুলিশ প্রস্তুত জানিয়ে স্বরাষ্ট্র উপদেষ্টা বলেন, ১৮৫ জনের মতো (পুলিশ সদস্য) কাজে যোগ দেয়নি, এ সংখ্যা নগণ্য। বাকি পুলিশ সদস্যরা কার্যকরী অবস্থায় রয়েছে। এছাড়া অন্যান্য সশস্ত্র বাহিনী রয়েছে। র্যাব, বিজিবি রয়েছে। নির্বাচনসহ যে কোনো অবস্থা মোকাবিলা করতে কোনো অসুবিধা হবে না। সভায় অন্যদের মধ্যে মুন্সিগঞ্জ জেলা প্রশাসক ফাতেমা তুল জান্নাত, পুলিশ সুপার শামসুল আলম সরকারসহ জেলা ও পুলিশ প্রশাসনের কর্মকর্তারা উপস্থিত ছিলেন।
