এমটিবি ফাউন্ডেশন সম্প্রতি তাদের পরিচালিত ‘ক্রিয়েটিং অলটারনেটিভ লাইভলিহুড ফর ভালনারেবল ফিশিং কমিউনিটিজ থ্রু ইনকাম জেনারেটিং অ্যাক্টিভিটিজ (আইজিএএ)’ কর্মসূচির আওতায় কক্সবাজারের চকরিয়া উপজেলার ভেওলা মানিক চর এবং কইয়ারবিল ইউনিয়নের প্রান্তিক মৎস্য শিকারী সম্প্রদায়ের বিপুল সংখ্যক পরিবারের মধ্যে বিকল্প জীবিকার সম্পদ বিতরণ করেছে।
এই কর্মসূচির আওতায়, এমটিবি ফাউন্ডেশন কাঁকড়া চাষ, হাঁস পালন, ক্ষুদ্র ব্যবসা এবং বসতবাড়ির বাগান করার জন্য উপকরণ বিতরণ করেছে। এই ইনকাম জেনারেটিং অ্যাক্টিভিটিজ জেলেদের পরিবারের নারী সদস্যদের দ্বারা চালিত হবে যারা মাছ ধরার নিষেধাজ্ঞার সময় সারা বছর তাদের বিকল্প আয়ের উৎস তৈরির লক্ষ্যে তাদের নিয়মিত কার্যক্রমকে এগিয়ে নিয়ে যাবে।
