অন্তর্বর্তী সরকারের প্রধান উপদেষ্টার প্রেস সচিব শফিকুল আলম বলেছেন, বর্তমান সরকারে দেশের ইতিহাসের সবচেয়ে ভালো ইকোনমিক টিম রয়েছে। দেশের অর্থনৈতিক উন্নয়নের জন্য বিভিন্ন পরিকল্পনা পরিমার্জন ও সংশোধন করছে। রোববার (১২ জানুয়ারি) রাজধানীর বেইলি রোডের ফরেন সার্ভিস একাডেমিতে এক প্রেস ব্রিফিংয়ে তিনি একথা বলেন।
একজন গণমাধ্যম কর্মী সম্প্রতি বিভিন্ন পণ্যের ওপর করারোপ ও এলপিজি গ্যাসের মূল্যবৃদ্ধির ফলে নতুন নতুন কারখানা গড়ে ওঠার ক্ষেত্রে সমস্যা তৈরি করবে কি না জানতে চাইলে শফিকুল আলম বলেন, একটি ফ্যাক্টরি বা ম্যানুফ্যাকচারিং প্লান্টের খুবই ক্ষুদ্র একটা অংশে গ্যাস ব্যবহৃত হয়। গ্লোবাল মার্কেটের যে দাম সেটা বিবেচনায় রেশনালাইজ করা হচ্ছে। এটা করার ফলে দেশের ফ্যাক্টরিগুলোর দক্ষতা বাড়বে। সরকার চায় তারা বিশ্বব্যাপী প্রতিযোগিতা করুক।
গ্যাসের মূল্যবৃদ্ধিতে নতুন শিল্পের বিকাশ বাধাগ্রস্ত হবে কি না সে সম্পর্কে জানতে চাইলে শফিকুল আলম বলেন, গ্যাসের ক্ষেত্রে বড় কথা হচ্ছে উৎপাদকের কাছে গ্যাস প্রাপ্তি সহজলভ্য করা যাচ্ছে কি না। সবাই গ্যাস চাইছে, তারা ব্যবসা সম্প্রসারণ করতে যাচ্ছে, অনেক অর্ডার পাচ্ছে।
