টস জিতলেন সোহান এবং প্রথমে ফিল্ডিংয়ের সিদ্ধান্ত নিলেন তিনি। ব্যাট করার আমন্ত্রণ জানালেন ফরচুন বরিশাল অধিনায়ক তামিম ইকবালকে। এটা নিয়ে তৃতীয় ম্যাচ খেলতে নামছে রংপুর রাইডার্স। আগের দুটি ম্যাচই জিতেছে তারা। প্রথম ম্যাচে ঢাকা ক্যাপিটালসকে হারিয়েছে ৪০ রানে। দ্বিতীয় ম্যাচে সিলেট স্ট্রাইকার্সকে হারাল ৩৪ রানে।
অন্যদিকে বর্তমান চ্যাম্পিয়ন ফরচুন বরিশালের এটা দ্বিতীয় ম্যাচ। উদ্বোধনী ম্যাচে তারা মাঠে নেমেছিলো দূর্বার রাজশাহীর বিপক্ষে। ওই ম্যাচে তামিম ইকবালের দল পেয়েছিলো ৪ উইকেটের ব্যবধানে জয়। আজ জিতলে পয়েন্ট টেবিলে রংপুরের সমান হবে বরিশাল। হারলে রংপুর শীর্ষস্থানে নিজেদের অবস্থান নিরঙ্কুশ করে তুলবে।
