ভারতকে ৫৯ রানে হারিয়ে অনূর্ধ্ব-১৯ এশিয়া কাপ বিজয়ী বাংলাদেশ যুব ক্রিকেট দলের জন্য ৫০ লাখ টাকা পুরস্কার ঘোষণা করেছে ক্রীড়া মন্ত্রণালয়। এক সংবাদ বিজ্ঞপ্তির মাধ্যমে এ ঘোষণা দিয়েছে জাতীয় ক্রীড়া পরিষদ (এনএসসি)।
রোববার আরব আমিরাতের দুবাই ইন্টারন্যাশনাল ক্রিকেট স্টেডিয়ামে ভারতীয় অনূর্ধ্ব-১৯ দলকে হারিয়ে টানা দ্বিতীয়বার যুব এশিয়া কাপ চ্যাম্পিয়ন হয় বাংলাদেশ। প্রথমে ব্যাট করতে নেমে বাংলাদেশ অলআউট হয়েছিলো ১৯৮ রানে। জবাবে ব্যাট করতে নামা ভারতীয় দলকে ১৩৯ রানে অলআউট করে দেয় বাংলাদেশ। ভারতকে হারিয়ে চ্যাম্পিয়ন হওয়ার পরই বাংলাদেশ যুব ক্রিকেট দলকে অভিনন্দন জানান যুব ও ক্রীড়া উপদেষ্টা ও জাতীয় ক্রীড়া পরিষদ চেয়ারম্যান আসিফ মাহমুদ সজীব ভূঁইয়া।
জাতীয় ক্রীড়া পরিষদ থেকে পাঠানো সংবাদ বিজ্ঞপ্তিতে বলা হয়, অনূর্ধ্ব-১৯ পুরুষ এশিয়া কাপে টানা ২য়বার শিরোপা জয়ের গৌরবময় সাফল্যে যুব ও ক্রীড়া মন্ত্রণালয় তথা জাতীয় ক্রীড়া পরিষদের পক্ষ থেকে মাননীয় উপদেষ্টা যুব ও ক্রীড়া মন্ত্রণালয় এবং মাননীয় চেয়ারম্যান, জাতীয় ক্রীড়া পরিষদ অনূর্ধ্ব-১৯ পুরুষ ক্রিকেট দলকে ৫০ লাখ টাকা আর্থিক পুরস্কার ঘোষণা করেছে।
