বাংলাদেশের ইতিহাসে ভোট ডাকাতিতে বিএনপির রেকর্ড কেউ ভাঙতে পারবে না বলে মন্তব্য করেছেন আওয়ামী লীগের সাধারণ সম্পাদক ও সেতুমন্ত্রী ওবায়দুল কাদের।

আজ বুধবার সকালে রাজধানীর কৃষিবিদ ইনস্টিটিউটে ঢাকা মহানগর উত্তর আওয়ামী লীগ আয়োজিত ৩০ ডিসেম্বর গণতন্ত্রের বিজয় দিবস উপলক্ষে আয়োজিত আলোচনা সভায় একথা বলেন তিনি। ওবায়দুল কাদের তাঁর সরকারি বাসভবন থেকে ভিডিও কনফারেন্সের মাধ্যমে সভায় যুক্ত হন।

বিএনপির যেকোনো শান্তিপূর্ণ কর্মসূচিকে স্বাগত জানিয়ে আওয়ামী লীগের সাধারণ সম্পাদক বলেন, ‘আন্দোলনের নামে কোনো নৈরাজ্য সৃষ্টি করলে জনগণের সম্পদ রক্ষায় সরকার কঠোর ব্যবস্থা নিবেন। আন্দোলনের নামে কোনো সংহিতা মেনে নেয়া হবে না, দেশের জনগণকে সঙ্গে নিয়ে জবাব দেয়া হবে।’

‘মির্জা ফখরুল সাহেব বলেছেন ইভিএমে ভোট দিলে নাকি সব ভোট নৌকার বাক্সে চলে যায়, তাহলে কি নৌকার ভোট ধানের শীষে যাওয়ায় তাদের দু’জন পৌরমেয়র জয়ী হয়েছেন?’-যোগ করেন আওয়ামী লীগের সাধারণ সম্পাদক।

ঢাকা মহানগর উত্তর আওয়ামী লীগের সভাপতি শেখ বজলুর রহমানের সভাপতিত্বে সভায় আরও উপস্থিত ছিলেন আওয়ামী লীগের সভাপতিমণ্ডলীর সদস্য জাহাঙ্গীর কবির নানক, যুগ্ম-সাধারণ সম্পাদক আ ফ ম বাহাউদ্দীন নাসিম, সাংগঠনিক সম্পাদক আহমদ হোসেন, মির্জা আজম ও উত্তর আওয়ামী লীগের সাধারণ সম্পাদক এসএম মান্নান কচি ঢাকা-১৮ আসনের সংসদ সদস্য হাবিব হাসান, ঢাকা-১৩ আসনের সংসদ সদস্য সাদেক খানসহ অন্যান্য নেতৃবৃন্দ।
