আইসিসির বার্ষিক সাধারণ সভা (এজিএম) শেষে সুখবরই পেল বাংলাদেশ। ২০১৪ সালের পর আবারও টি-টোয়েন্টি বিশ্বকাপ আয়োজনের সুয়োগ পেল বাংলাদেশ ক্রিকেট বোর্ড(বিসিবি)। ২০২৪ সালের নারী টি-টোয়েন্টি বিশ্বকাপ বাংলাদেশের অনুষ্ঠিত হবে- এমন খবর শুনে রোমাঞ্চিত বাংলাদেশ নারী ক্রিকেটাররা।
মঙ্গলবার আইসিসি কর্তৃক চারটি ইভেন্টের অনুমোদন দেয়া হয়েছে। নারী টি-টোয়েন্টি বিশ্বকাপ ২০২৪ ও ২০২৬-এর আয়োজক বাংলাদেশ ও ইংল্যান্ড। ২০২৫ নারী ওয়ানডে বিশ্বকাপের আয়োজক ভারত ও শর্ত সাপেক্ষে ২০২৭ চ্যাম্পিয়নস ট্রফি শ্রীলঙ্কায়।
বাংলাদেশে টি-টোয়েন্টি বিশ্বকাপ অনুষ্ঠিত হবে এমন খবর শুনে টাইগ্রেস অধিনায়ক নিগার সুলতানা জ্যোতি বলেন, ‘আমি খুব রোমাঞ্চিত। কারণ নিজের দেশে বিশ্বকাপ খেলার মতো সৌভাগ্য সবার হয় না। নিজের দেশের একটা বাড়তি সুবিধা থাকে, দর্শকদের সমর্থন থাকে যা দলকে উজ্জীবিত করতে অনেক বেশি সাহায্য করে।’
উল্লেখ্য, আসন্ন ২০২৪ নারী টি-টোয়েন্টি বিশ্বকাপে প্রথমবারের মতো কেবল মেয়েদের কোনো বড় প্রতিযোগিতা আয়োজন করবে বাংলাদেশ। একই বছরের সেপ্টেম্বর-অক্টোবরে হবে টি-টোয়েন্টি বিশ্বকাপ। সেখানে অংশ নেবে মোট ১০টি দল। আসরে সবমিলিয়ে ম্যাচ হবে ২৩টি।
