ওয়ানডে এবং টি-টোয়েন্টি খেলতে সমস্যা না থাকলেও প্রায় টেস্ট ম্যাচে খেলা নিয়ে অনাগ্রহ প্রকাশ করেন দেশসেরা অলরাউন্ডার সাকিব আল হাসান। কিন্তু এরপরও বাংলাদেশ ক্রিকেট বোর্ডের(বিসিবি) কেন্দ্রীয় চুক্তিতে তিন ফরম্যাটেই রাখা হয়েছে তাকে। ঠিক কি কারণে এমনটা করা তা নিয়ে জানার আগ্রহ সবার।
শুক্রবার সকালে এ বিষয়ে ব্যাখ্যা দিয়েছেন বিসিবির দুই নির্বাচক মিনহাজুল আবেদিন নান্নু এবং আব্দুর রাজ্জাক। যে কারণে সাকিবকে তিন ফরম্যাটেই রাখা হয়েছে তার যুক্তিও দেখিয়েছেন তারা।
সাকিবকে নিয়ে নান্নু বলেন, ‘এ বছর আমাদের অনেক খেলা আছে। আগামী এক বছর আমরা সাকিবের কাছ থেকে আরও ভালো পারফরম্যান্স চাচ্ছি। ২০২২ সালে আমাদের অনেক খেলোয়াড় লাগবে। সেরা খেলোয়াড়কে আমরা সবসময়ই তিন ফরম্যাটে চাই। আশা করছি রিফ্রেশ হয়ে ফিরে এসে সাকিব তিন ফরম্যাটেই খেলবে।’
বাংলাদেশের তো বটেই, বর্তমান ক্রিকেটবিশ্বের অন্যতম সেরা তারকা হলেন সাকিব। আর সেরাদের কখনও বাদ দেওয়া যায়। ঠিক এমন মন্তব্য উঠে এসেছে আব্দুর রাজ্জাকের বক্তব্যে।
মিরপুরে সাংবাদিকদের সামনে কথা বলতে গিয়ে রাজ্জাক বলেন, ‘৬ মাসের ছুটির যে কথা বলছেন তা আনুষ্ঠানিক না। তাই দুইটা সিরিজ বিশ্রাম নিলে তাকে তিন ফরম্যাটের চুক্তিতে রাখা যাবে না এটা না। আর সাকিব কিন্তু কোনো ফরম্যাট থেকে সরে যায়নি। সাকিব এই মাপের খেলোয়াড় যে নিজে থেকে কোনো ফরম্যাট থেকে সরে না গেলে ক্রিকেট বোর্ড থেকে সরিয়ে দেওয়া কঠিন।’
