সোমবার (৯ মার্চ) এক বার্তায় বিদ্যুৎ, জ্বালানি ও খনিজসম্পদ মন্ত্রণালয় জানায়, জ্বালানি তেল বিপণনে উদ্ভূত পরিস্থিতিতে দেশের বিভিন্ন ডিপো হতে কোনো কোনো ক্ষেত্রে ডিলারদের আকস্মিক বর্ধিত চাহিদা অনুযায়ী জ্বালানি তেল পাওয়া যাচ্ছে না বলে জানা যায়। ফলে জ্বালানি তেল বিপণন কোম্পানিগুলোর চট্টগ্রাম মহানগরীর পতেঙ্গায় প্রধান স্থাপনাসহ প্রধান প্রধান ডিপোগুলোতে অর্থাৎ খুলনা জেলার দৌলতপুর, সিরাজগঞ্জ জেলার বাঘাবাড়ি, নারায়ণগঞ্জ জেলার গোদনাইল ও ফতুল্লা, দিনাজপুর জেলার পার্বতীপুর এবং বরিশাল ডিপোতে অনাকাঙ্ক্ষিত পরিস্থিতি সৃষ্টির সম্ভাবনা রয়েছে বলে জ্বালানি তেল বিপণন কোম্পানি সূত্রে জানা যায়।

দেশের জ্বালানি তেলের ডিপোগুলো কেপিআইভুক্ত স্থাপনা হওয়ায় জরুরিভিত্তিতে এর নিরাপত্তা নিশ্চিত করা প্রয়োজন। এ পরিপ্রেক্ষিতে বিপণন কোম্পানিগুলোর উল্লিখিত স্থাপনার সার্বিক নিরাপত্তা নিশ্চিত করার লক্ষ্যে জরুরি ভিত্তিতে সেনাবাহিনী মোতায়েন প্রয়োজন।

এমতাবস্থায়, উদ্ভূত পরিস্থিতিতে বিপণন কোম্পানিগুলোর চট্টগ্রাম মহানগরীর পতেঙ্গার প্রধান স্থাপনা, খুলনা জেলার দৌলতপুর, সিরাজগঞ্জ জেলার বাঘাবাড়ি, নারায়ণগঞ্জ জেলার গোদনাইল ও ফতুল্লা, দিনাজপুর জেলার পার্বতীপুর এবং বরিশাল ডিপোর নিরাপত্তা নিশ্চিত করার লক্ষ্যে সেনাবাহিনী মোতায়েনের পরবর্তী প্রয়োজনীয় ব্যবস্থা গ্রহণের জন্য অনুরোধ করা হলো।
