জাতীয় নাগরিক পার্টির (এনসিপি) নির্বাচন পরিচালনা কমিটির চেয়ারম্যান আসিফ মাহমুদ সজীব ভূঁইয়া বলেছেন, আমরা জাতীয় সংসদ নির্বাচনে অংশগ্রহণ করব কি না পুনর্বিবেচনা করার সময় এসেছে।
রোববার (১৮ জানুয়ারি) রাতে রাজধানীর বাংলামোটরে দলীয় কার্যালয়ে এক সংবাদ সম্মেলনে এ মন্তব্য করেন তিনি।
নির্বাচন কমিশনের বিরুদ্ধে পক্ষপাতের অভিযোগ এনে আসিফ মাহমুদ বলেন, একটি সুষ্ঠু নির্বাচন করার জন্য রাজনৈতিক দল বা জনগণের যে কনফিডেন্স অর্জনের কথা ছিল নির্বাচন কমিশনের, তা হারিয়েছে তারা। যদি এভাবে নির্বাচনের কার্যক্রম সামনের দিকে যেতে থাকে, তাহলে আমরা শঙ্কা প্রকাশ করছি যে, বাংলাদেশে একটা সুষ্ঠু নির্বাচন বাস্তবায়ন করতে পারবে না ইসি।
