নায়েবে আমির সৈয়দ আবদুল্লাহ মোহাম্মদ তাহের। তিনি বলেন, ‘জামায়াতে ইসলামী বিএনপির সঙ্গে কোনো ঝগড়ায় লিপ্ত হতে চায় না। যা-ই করতেছেন এবার বন্ধ করুন। আসুন আমরা একসঙ্গে বসি। দেশের এই পরিস্থিতি নিয়ে খোলামেলা আলোচনা করি। বিএনপিকে আহ্বান করবো একসঙ্গে বসার। আমরা আলোচনা করবো কীভাবে সত্যিকার অর্থে একটা স্বাধীন-সার্বভৌম বাংলাদেশ তৈরি হবে।’
রোববার (২ নভেম্বর) রাজধানীর আল ফালাহ মিলনায়তনে জামায়াত আয়োজিত ‘চলমান রাজনৈতিক পরিস্থিতি’ শীর্ষক এক সংবাদ সম্মেলনে আবদুল্লাহ মোহাম্মদ তাহের এসব কথা বলেন।
জামায়াতের নায়েবে আমির বলেন, ‘রাজনীতির অনেক খেলা আছে, আমরা খেলতে চাই না। আগামীকাল সোমবার জামায়াতের দলীয় বৈঠক রয়েছে। সেখানে আমাদের পরবর্তী কর্মসূচি নিয়ে আলোচনা হবে।’
বিএনপিকে আনুষ্ঠানিকভাবে আলোচনার জন্য আহ্বান জানানো হয়েছে কি না- এমন প্রশ্নের জবাবে তিনি বলেন, ‘আমরা এই আহ্বান এখন মিডিয়ার মাধ্যমে দিচ্ছি। দেখি তারা কাল মিডিয়ায় কী প্রতিক্রিয়া দেখায়।’
